Here’s some updates from my life:
–My optimistic-low-stress-equals-success mantra from yesterday’s Fringe audition paid-off! I’m cast! The show is Casanova Man – The Superhero that Only Saves Women. I’m really excited to get started on the project because I get to be…No — I shouldn’t tell you… You need to come see the show. The Minnesota Fringe Festival happens in August — I’ll have more info then.
–The 48 Hour Film Festival is happening this weekend in Minneapolis and I’m on-call. I’m hoping my phone will ring at 3AM with a panicked director screaming in my ear for an “emergency actor.” I’ll jump out of bed and into my “acting jumpsuit” and away I’ll ride on Shirley. For some reason, this is as close to becoming a volunteer firefighter as I’ve ever been.
–I’m going forward with my studio space in Northeast. I’ve written eight goals for the remaining part of this year and it’s my very intention to accomplish them with a fury like that of Zeus. When I start knocking some goals off my list, my studio-mates and I will throw a party and you’ll be invited!
–The production class at the BNW is nearing completion. We’ve narrowed down 40 sketches to 19. The show opens in less than a month and we haven’t started rehearsals. I’m not worried, but I’m curious to see how everything will come together.
–One of the three sketches I wrote, the one sketch I was most excited about was the sketch I cut. While I was touched that the sketch made it’s way through the first and second round of cuts, admittedly, the sketch was ‘dark.’
–I attended the Monday Night Comedy Show for the first time since this. It was nice to see the show. I will probably go again.
–After Last Laugh, you should check out the late night improv set over at the Brave New Workshop. Only $1.00!
