ABOUT
MICHAEL VENSKE is an actor and educator that just returned from tour with the National Theatre for Children. In fact, in the past school year with NTC Michael gave 232 performances in 97 days for roughly 60,000 elementary students! The best part? Free hugs.
Michael received his training at the Brave New Workshop, America's oldest satirical comedy theater. He studied improvisation, writing/producing sketch comedy, and even worked as the theater's technical director for a season (’06-’07). In 2008 he made the decision to pursue acting full-time after being cast in “Two Gentleman of Verona” at the Guthrie Theater. Michael’s favorite show? Tom Poole’s “The Chinchillas,” which also happened to be voted the audience’s favorite show during Commedia Beauregard’s "Master Works: The Goya Plays."
When Michael isn't playing pretend at home or around the country he works as an educator at Harmony Theatre, Young Actors Theater Company, and as an actor/educator at the Minnesota History Center and the Barbara Schneider Foundation’s Crisis Actors Troupe. Michael offers private coaching for scene study, script analysis, or monologue development and conducts workshops on "the business side of acting" to help prepare young actors to start working professionally. He is also a certified One Act Play judge through the Minnesota State High School League.
Michael is represented exclusively by Talent Poole Talent Agency and if you're feelin' social you can connect with Michael now (or whenever). To view Michael's teaching and performance calendar click here.
During his free time you can find Michael practicing random acts of kindness, writing his next one-man show, or growing a beard. Thanks for visiting!
