Another drop in the bucket…

I had an audition on April 26 for a short film about a man that’s dying of cancer.
The copy I had to read for the audition was… difficult to decipher and honestly, I didn’t feel like I could connect with the character.
(I suppose that’s ultimately the actor’s job though — the ability to connect to character and bring that character to life…)
At the audition, the producers provided bagels, cream cheese and bottles of water. Sweet!
I decided that even if I didn’t land the role, I’d still get a free snack out of the experience.
When I auditioned, I felt playful and fun, but in no way like I’d get the role.
Well, today I found out that I did in deed get the role.
This is good news.
Better news is the fact that the job pays.
“Hi, I’m Michael Venske… A working actor.”
