The Director’s Name?
Last week I had the incredible opportunity to do some background work for a national Tempur Pedic commercial. After the commercial shoot I learned this important piece of information: the director’s name.
Yeah, its silly. I know.
Sometimes though the actors on set, especially extras on a shoot, don’t always pay attention to whom the director is. Especially if all the direction is coming from the AD (assistant director).
Here’s this week’s tip:
Ask for the director’s name. Look at the director’s resume. Do your research. Be professional on set. Stand out. Introduce yourself — after all, what could it hurt?
Had I the foresight to ask the director’s name before the shoot, I would have known I was working with an individual from Hollywood that’s directed a number of episodes of Dexter and Six Feet Under.
Have a great weekend!
Michael
