30 DAY ACTOR CHALLENGE: DAY 16

30 Day Challenge, Acting, Misadventures on October 16th, 2011 2 Comments

DAY 16

First stage kiss? (And a picture if available.)
If I’m not mistaken, the first stage kiss was with Laura Mahler in “Bye Bye Liver.” We didn’t open the show that way, but as the show evolved our character’s backstory became more fleshed-out.

However, in a lot of the short films I’ve done I’m often kissing my scene partners. Another perk of the job, I suppose. Which is all kind of ironic because for some reason I’m also extremely shy when it comes to kissing and get really nervous which leads to bloody noses (also mentioned here & here).

Thinking about it now, before my the first on-camera kiss the actress asked me if I’d ever done a kiss on-camera. I said “no” and she told me that it would be a closed-mouth kiss. However, the moment we started filming she rammed her tongue down my throat. No wonder I’m nervous when it comes to kissing, I had a tongue torpedo fired into my face!

According to all the laughs from the crew* on set that bloody nose was hilarious…

Adorable. I only did theatre in high school, however, I had quite a few on-stage kisses – no bloody noses, but everything is super awkward in high school anyway. :)

You had “quite a few” on-stage kisses in high school?! Lucky lucky lucky! All the kissing I did in high school was a series of awkward backstage romances…

Thank you for the comment, Brian!
